Solution Focussed Brief Therapy Training – deShazer/E Murphy

I trained with the Exeter College/Relate Training and have worked as a counsellor for 12 years in a number of different settings; Relate, the Margaret Jackson Centre, Devon RD & E Occupational Dept., GP surgeries and other local charities.

I trained in Couples Counselling with Relate and completed CBT training with the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. My client base has also included short term, solution focussed work with Occupational Health clients for the RD& E Exeter.
During this time I was also the project co-ordinator of the Devon Rape & Sexual Abuse Line, training, supporting and managing volunteer listeners working in this area for 12 years. This provided me with a great deal of experience in this specialist area.

I also trained with ADVA (Against Domestic Violence & Abuse) in Devon, giving me the skills and knowledge to work with abuse of all types.

As an Associate Lecturer with Exeter College, I provide training to Diploma level in Counselling and deliver short courses to students.

I bring practical, real life work experience to these courses using the wisdom and skills gathered in my differing positions over the years.

Therapies offered:
Integrative
Person-centred therapy
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
Couples counselling
